Go West Des Moines Commercial Launches During Solheim Cup
With an event like the Solheim Cup, the LPGA’s prestigious tournament, being played this week in West Des Moines, city leaders wanted to make a splash with a national TV commercial to attract new businesses and residents to West Des Moines.
After Bing Bang was approached by the City of West Des Moines to help create the TV commercial, our team hit the deck hard to come up with more than just a TV commercial concept – we wanted to partner with West Des Moines on a campaign that would create awareness, build a loyal community and portray the vibrance, success and quality of life that draws people and businesses to call West Des Moines home.
And so, Go West, a comprehensive, multi-platform campaign was born.
Total campaign creation was an ambitious goal even before considering a rapidly approaching broadcast deadline for the centerpiece of the campaign – a :30-second spot airing during NBC’s Solheim Cup coverage. Bing Bang’s crack creative team got to work quickly, writing a script, securing talent and shoot locations for a three-day shooting blitz at a whopping 14 locations in West Des Moines. It was a hectic week, but the job wasn’t done yet. The production team put in overtime editing the spot in just two days before presenting the finished commercial with the proposed website design that would become the hub for the whole campaign, GoWestDesMoines.com. And, that’s not it! An aggressive lead generation campaign designed to attract top talent and workplaces to the city is also being developed.
